I guess I ate too much chocolate recently or something. Regardless, I had a zit right under my chin. I popped the whitehead and now I am waiting for it to heal. If I shave over that area, likely, the blade will re-open that popped zit and bleed.
The advice given is probably the best approach, however I do suffer from acne as well but honestly have never paid much attention to it while shaving. I do not get large pimples anymore though so that may make things different. When using a DE I use a very light touch/little to no pressure anyway so it has not caused any issues for me.
I too have occasional acne/pimples. I actually get a little relief from them by shaving. I usually burst them, then go ahead and shave over the whole face including the affected areas, and when done, wash with hot water and apply Nivea Post Shave Balm. On days when the acne is bad I usually make it a point to do a good long hot shower prep, then shave. I think soaking in the hot most air seems to make it less painful, and also the hairs shave easier.
I do the same as duki. I find it actually helps it heal faster if I deal with it after I shave. Usually the blade will slice off a tiny amount of the acne, making it easier and cleaner to squeeze out the remaining pus.
I've suffered from acne since I was 13 and I only just recently have gotten it cleared up. What I've always did was just shave right over it, throw a little Witch Hazel or an Alcohol splash on it, and weirdly it does seem to make zits heal quicker.
I just shave over it and throw on some witch hazel or a splash. Or I skip shaving for a couple days and then scrub my face really hard in the shower and put witch hazel on after my shower.
