Shaving with an Old Type Open Comb

I was just wondering if anyone has any tips? It seems like it needs a much steeper angle than my safety bar razors...have any of you experienced this?

Yes- a bit steeper angle is correct. If you see the comb lines over your cream or soap- you have too little of an angle. A little practise and it will become second nature and give a great close shave.

Have you noticed that the open comb does not flatten out the skin under it, like a safety bar would? So it is up to you to provide a taut shaving surface. Try not to over-stretch, but use some judicious skin-stretching and facial contortions wherever needed.
