shaving stick sweating?

Heya gents,

I recently got a TOBS st james stick. It had its maiden use yesterday, which went well. After the shave I left it sitting on the counter with the cap off to dry out.

I go to put it away today and its still all wet on top. Like its been sweating or something. Its a clear slick fluid, and there was enough to drip down the sides when I picked up and tilted the stick.

Whats going on here?!

It's normal for a glycerin soap to sweat. This is especially true if left in a over-heated or high humidity area.

Awesome, thanks Sue, thats about as quick and good of an answer as you can get!

Interesting - ive never noticed that before.

Will it soak back in if I leave it somewhere cool and dry?

Yeah I've noticed different soaps and especially deodorant sticks doing this too. I just pretended it wasn't happening and carried on as usual.

surprised you have both high humidity and temperature down there this time of year Dunny? Unless of course your bathroom stays that way.

it is a bit odd. The bathroom has been room temp (about 20c) and no more humid than anywhere else. Ive an extractor fan too, so even when the shower is on the mirror only foggs a little at the top.
