Shaving Overload

About a year ago i got a diamond impregnated stone designed to flatten honing stones. I have 2 stones from my Grandfather, who got them from his Dad's iron foundry (you need sharp chisels to make wooden patterns for casting iron objects). Grandpa taught me how to hone a straight razor when I was around 15 years old, and it's a skill I've never forgotten. While I do have several good razors, both new and antique, I've also accumulated a bunch of cheap razors, some likely Chinese. The challenge was to make a particular cheap-o shave like my King Cutter.
Today is also the day a package of shaving soap arrived in the mail. Ten there was a delivery several days early of several vintage DE razor parts I needed to rehab some old Gillettes.
To top it off, I haven't done a straight razor shave since earlier this year.
Results: smooth cheeks, but a little residual roughness around my neck under my chin. No Problem - I got to use one of my refurbished DE razors to finish up. BBS now & happy with the shavability of that cheap-o (not even a Gold Dollar).
Now I can move on to other & better razors.
