Shaving on the Royal Train

After more reading of the book about Downton Abbey, I decided to look up a "brushing room" on the internet and came across this newspaper article http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/a...eens-travelling-bedroom-mobile-home-home.html . If you do not care to read through the article, shaving tidbits are that Prince Charles uses a safety razor and brush, and the Duke of Edinburgh has his shaving mirror arranged on the train such that he can shave seated. Other interesting stuff if you are bored in the evening and it is pouring rain outside.

A few years ago the train on which I was travelling between Basingstoke and Salisbury, ran alongside the royal train for a few minutes. Although we didn't spot any royals, we did get a good look at the interior of the public carriages, and the interiors were palatial (for want of better word). Had it been drawn by a steam engine, I'd have been forgiven for thinking I'd stepped back in time

Hip Hip Hooray for Her Majesty! And of course for the feisty old Consort, Prince Philip. We will miss both one day- sadly.

Oh and by the way- Great forum!

Pretty cool. That desk that Charles uses is nicer than many home or office based desks.
