Shaving on the road

I am looking for something, single edge, disposable maybe for the weekends I am on the road. I dont want to pack my good stuff with me. I tend to use Shave Secret when on the road. I cant do a double edge because it always plugging if I skip a day. Any suggestions on something half way decent. I realize I will have to sacrifice a bit from my home setup. Just want something easy, cheap and effective for on the road.

This may not fit your "on the road" style but my travel kit is.

Futur (drive by shooting model)
10 pack of assorted blades (feather, blacks, voskhod, reds, etc)
Arko stick
Wee Scot in a travel tube

For AS I use vodka (works nicely for other purposes also)

I tried the Guard..works very well..doesnt clog...from what I could view..the center area behind the head is open to allow water to rinse off all the "gunk"

I use the same idea - only I use straights so I pack either a Feather AC or a GD. When I was just using DE, I packed a red tip and just about what you did in yours. I prefer the same kind of blade so mine were either 7 O'clock or Feather. I also pack a 99 cent styptic pencil. It all fits in a very snug dop kit.

If flying and not checking luggage, then the OP has to carry a crap razor. I go for the M3 disposables if that occurs (which it seldom does).

Gillette Guard will work.

Ditto.

I take two of my less valuable straights... that'll get me 4 comfy shaves without stropping.
Arko stick
Franks turnback travel brush
Aftershave to fit the weather

42 flights in 9 months last year and my travel kit was thus;

Checked luggage
Tech, astras, proraso green tube & AS, EJ BBB in a cardboard tube in a Penhaligons leather dopp.

Carry-on
Exactly the same but a Schick electro-vibratey multi.

I would always use the coffee mug in the hotel room to lather up.

I do not believe in "compromise" +1 you have a great performing kit all in the space of a small shower bag..... no reason to skimp out on anything.

Man invented the Dopp Kit so as to be best able to bring his Shave Schwag with him on his conquest of the globe.

Get a Dopp kit.

Load it up with high quality shave stuff.

Put it in your suitcase.

Enjoy shaving without any kids/wife/dog banging on the door saying "are you done in there YET?!"

No, my friend. Travel time is not a time to be Spartan, it is a time to indulge yourself.

I am writing this to you from a hotel in Osaka. In my Dopp kit is a Feather DX replaceable blade straight (I often bring a couple regular straights, strop, etc. but opted out this time), a bowl of Mike's Pine&Cedar, a quality boar brush (packed in a toilet paper tube), a bottle of Alt Innsbruck, toothbrush, pit stick, dental floss, assorted flotsam & jetsam...plenty of room for bringing the good stuff.
