Shaving myths

I used my first Splash AS today (first since I started with wet-shaving). Not only did my skin did not suffer irritation, nor did my skin fell off - it was actually pretty nice. So THERE - to all those whom I believed for the past year and a half, who claims Alcohol based AS is the devil.
Are there anymore shaving myths one should be aware to?

That somewhere, out THERE, is the one (insert tool here) that will grant the owner with BBS every shave, cure baldness, increase virility and generally improve wellbeing & outlook...

Open comb razors are more aggressive than safety bar razors

Sorry but this one isn't true. It depends on the Open Comb razor. There are mild open combs and aggressive open combs...

Pretty much any such sweeping generalization. Always consider the source. Always remember YMMV. For some, alcohol based AS's are to be avoided. That doesn't mean it's the case for everyone. Consider that alcohol based AS's are frequently discussed here.
