Can't say I have, and I may be mistaken but I believe those are meant as a source of hot water rather than warm lather. From the days when indoor plumbing was rare or predating it. I'm sure someone can verify that. FYI, I have a crack in my Razorock scuttle, my own carelessness though. I kept it thinking it's still fine as a lather bowl.

i fancy getting a vintage scuttle, is there any type that are better then others?
