Hey Y’all!

It’s been a lot of fun learning from many of you more knowledgeable wet shavers! How long did it take for you to find the right shaving routine that works for you?

- How long did it take you to perfect your technique with a straight or safety razor?

- How long did it take for you to build the type of lather you prefer?

- How long did it take for you to find your preferred blade/soap?

Do those journeys ever come to an end?

I’m on straight razor shave 376 and I’m still wondering if my blade isn’t truly sharp. My shaves are DFS and comfortable, but not quite BBS.

There are too many soaps/crisps/creams to declare a favorite. I have ran into some I don’t care for.

Building a lather was easy enough even when face lathering when I started some 40+ years ago. I’m probably not picky. I like it hit, wet, and thin enough not to clog and to stay hit and wet.

My favorite blade is a Feather and I liked it from the get go, but I found it more than 40 years in. I don’t know when they became available. I just got my hand on the new King C Gillette Platinum blades and they are awesome. Maybe I will never find the perfect one, just better ones.
