Shaving after tipping one or few back...

So I prefer to shave at night and most usually before turning in. But during the course of the evening, it is not uncommon to have one or few beverages. Mostly the weekends anymore for the few, even those are getting scarcer. Age related sobriety.

My question is after having a bit, do you still shave and if so, do you modify your routine?

I will answer first. I still shave. And after some bloody experience, I modify my routine. If I had a bit, I will shave with a Tech. I can't seem to do any damage to myself with a Tech.

These days I can't drink enough to even get light headed? My Whisky's just sit there looking at me...

I have shaved after a few in the past...oddly I can't remember the outcome?!

But he's still typing and there was no blood on the keyboard... or was there?

Using a straight takes all my focus. Using "performance enhancing beverages" or state altering beverages would inevitably lead to bloodshed. I'm thinking an adjustable set on 1-3, a Tech, or a blue tip would be fairly safe - but not an open comb with a Feather (similar results to the straight)!

Good luck and let us know if it works for you.

In my short DE career I've predominantly shaved at night/in evening.
I would never say that I've shaved whilst actually intoxicated...just seems too risky...although I might have been borderline on a breathaliser test.
If we're going out to dinner, or for drinks with friends, I'd shave before going out for the evening.

I shave with a straight so the answer is no, no way!

+1. Too many opportunities to make a careless mistake. A mistake will cost you blood and possibly dis-figuration and/or loss of an eye or something. Not worth it. Shave the next morning.

I too shave at night. Sometimes I have one or two in the hours beforehand, but not enough to affect my shaving. Any more than that though and I'd have problems. I usually stop and consider before shaving if I really should.
But mostly, I don't have anything before. I tend to have either two or so Jägermeister, or a cup of Chinese tea whilst I relax listening to the radio afterward.

Yes, the open comb and Feather was exactly the hardware I used in my bloody incident.

Shavin' don't mix with that "who hit John"! I've actually tried shaving with a massive hangover, and that was a big mistake. I can only imagine the ER bill from trying to shave while three sheets to the wind [shudders]!

I've never shaven when drunk. Eye-hand coordination would be well out of sync for that. Even standing up is a feat when I'm really drunk

But seriously, why would you shave after drinking? Surely you would shave beforehand so as to look presentable when down the pub. You never know if you're meet any cuties so you would need to look and smell decent. Makes sense to me :001_smile
