I'm also interested in them and started a thread in the straight razor forum. I was thinking Dovo, but apparently they aren't up to much. The £30 price point was attractive. Parker are said to be a good brand but I don't know what models. Then there's the Feather Artist club, which are a bit on the expensive side,by that point buying a legit cut throat would be more economical considering you'd still need blades.
I started out with the DOVO Shavette using the green plastic insert holder and Personna blades and have been very happy with it. I still use it occasionally when my normal straights need sharpening. It is fun and easy to use with the longer Personna blades. However, I have been tempted to get one of the new Feather Artist Club SS models as I have read rave reviews about them.
I have two Dovos that have been used for years when traveling by motorcycle and also for touch up after using a DE. Simple, clean, very robust design with flexibility due to the available blade inserts. The stainless version is bullet proof. They work very well and you don't need a lot of talent. Easy blade change and no maintenance. Might get a Feather, or other, one day but so far I can't justify the higher cost for what you get.
