Go to 4:38 in this video and see if you can notice the flaw in this guys stropping technique.

Trying to figure out if he's serious. I mean, that amazing stropping technique aside, he has an edge with clear visable chips and talks about 15 laps on the coarse stone. And he seems to deliberately create a frown.
I get a feeling of that I'm being trolled lol

If you liked and were good with the shavette, why step into the new shaving method (besides the gift).

I have one question: if it came from the hone master, it should have been shave ready...no need to strop...just take it to the face.

sometimes when we are learning....stropping might dull the edge....; this could have been the case....

I doubt you will find a "sharper" edge than the shavettes....

That video is the prime example of a bad example in just about every technique and principle.

It’s pretty clear that on the learning ladder he’s on the bottom rung, he ‘doesn’t know and doesn’t know that he doesn’t know’.

I think that was his first and last honing video so he probably didn't survive the shave.

THE flaw? There are more than one there. Plain awful to have that out there and think someone might attempt to emulate it.
