I was thinking about ordering a MONSTER 30mm Shavemac. There is a price different of about $80 between Silvertip and D01. Is there enough of a difference to justify the difference in price?

Yes, at that size.
But I prefer the Silvertip. The D01 is denser so it affords a better massage but without as good flow through (although at 30mm I imagine the regular silvertip would be pretty dense). If you get the D01 and flow through is important to you, I recommend at least their suggested loft (i.e. I would not shorten the D01 loft) .
