Shavemac Finest For Face lathering?

Hi all,
Since receiving my first M&F Brush (Thanks Ken & Lee), I've become interested in trying a Shavemac. I only Face Lather and usually use soaps (both Soft & Hard), but sometimes a cream is thrown in.
From looking around the Shavemac site I would like to try the following:

Handle: 173
Color: Pearl
Hair: Finest (Fan Shape)
Knot: 23
Loft: 50

The brushes I have that I really enjoy are from 23-25 mm Knots & 50-52 mm lofts. I'm just wondering about the backbone of the Finest Grade Badger.
I would love some advice on what size loft & Knot would give me good backbone.

Thanks,
Evan

I don't have a shavemac, but that sounds about right. I have a Rudy Vey of similar dimensions (24 x 48 was the spec, I've not measured it), and it is a great choice for face lathering, though I've got fat cheeks and like something a little bigger personally.

i have a D01 23x48 bulb shape, great back bone and scrubby without the scritch, d01 3 band 24x52 again a great brush, i use both brushes for face and bowl lathering depending on my mood $IMG_0626.jpg

Absolutely, I have a couple of Finest, one really round bulb and one with a fan shaped knot and I only face lather, both perform flawlessly.

I just received an E-Mail from Bernd and he recommend a 24/50 Finest Fan shape for face lathering.

Thank you to everyone for your the responses and advice.

I prefer slightly smaller brushes for face lathering, I have a 21/42 in Finest which is perfect for me. The handle size/height is smaller and fits my hand well. The Finest grade of hair is actually pretty soft, no scritchiness issues with my brush.
