I couldn’t decide so I ended up ordering 2 brushes [emoji38]
The jade is a 21mm/48mm fan knot
The blue is a 22mm/52mm also in fan
They both look fantastic.

You've done well. Loft doesn't really mean much, unless you take the shape into account. Shavemac flat tops are set lower, for instance my D01 is a 28mm knot, set at 48mm and it feels just right. A hybrid fan of the same size would sit around 52-53mm, and a bulb could sit at 56-58mm, easy. In reality, when you look at the bristle, the trick is to set that middle black band right and the rest will follow naturally.
So.. When someone says they like a shorter loft (or taller loft for that matter), those preferences are relative, as well as highly subjective. Luckily, Bernd is one of the good ones out there!
