Got my Merkur 15c in the mail today so had to try it out. Did my usual prep, while soaking my brush. Put a new Astra Sp blade in it and face lathered with my RazoRock Classic. I was amazed at how mild the razor is. I expected it to be a little bit more agressive than it was. Did my usual 3pass shave with some minor touchups and got a very good DFS. I'll use it for a week and see how it goes. It gives a very smooth and comfortable shave and with some practice think I'm going to enjoy it alot. Absolutely no irritation at all and it even got the hard parts around my neck/adams apple without any signs of roadrash.

The 15C is on my list. I bet it's smooth. Some don't find the Merkur OC aggressive enough but not all OC's have to be aggressive. I do notice (like you) that these OC's are great for the throat area.

Definately not agressive but gives great shave. I like the thinner head of the 15c. Very easy to get to those problems areas with and had absolutely no irritation with it. Even where I blade buffed along my jaw line and around adams apple. Smooth as silk. Can't wait till I get my Gillette Old Type Ball and give it a try. Think it will be a little more agressive than the Merkur. But, for now, the Merkur 15c is a great introducdtion to the open comb razor. It just seems to have the right fit for my face.
Nice, Glad you found a decent mild OC as i find most of the ones i tried are a bit harsh, but then again i have only tried a hand full

I have an 11c and I just love it, gives a great 3 pass shave with a feather, never had a bad shave with it.
Congrats on the success with the 15C. If its working so well for you then stay with it. I have the 11C which has been discontinued, and I really like it. I go for the shorter handles, but if that 15C suits you then you're all set.
Congratulations on the new razor. If you want it to be a tad more aggressive, try using one or two shims in it. It can, literally, transform your razor. Good luck.
