Shave with Psycho?

I recently got lucky and purchased a pair of mint 1958 Gillette Tech Psychos with one original key. I'm hesitant to shave with them, since I'm worried they are so collectable (not to mention they are extremely creepy).

How rare are these razors? What would you do? Should these be sitting on a collection shelf? Maybe I should decide which one is in the best shape, and use that one as a collector (with the key), and use the other with an aftermarket key as a shaver.

Any thoughts?

They are quite rare from what I understand, but the keys are rarer since they came packaged in bulk with one key for the staff.
Personally I think they are keepers, not shavers (but maybe you have to try everything once).

I have one, but no key, think its a tech head on it, going to have to buy a screwdriver type tool to open it.

I think he was meaning because they were for use in prisons and mental hospitals so that inmates and patients couldn't get the sharp blades out and use them for weapons or self mutilation.

Dude, they're called Gillette "Psychos." That alone is a bit creepy.

It's not like we are discussing the Gillette "Well-Adjusted" or the Gillette "No Longer a Threat to the Public or Himself."

I would definitely use one of them. Aftermarket key or not. What's wrong with "Psycho"? It was one of the coolest movies of all time.

I have one and have shaved with it. It shaves like a Tech.

Hell yes, shave with one of them! A shave or two wouldn't put much more wear and tear on them than being used in prison.

I say use one of them (whichever one is in a poorer condition) - but if you hear your old mum telling you to murder some teenage girls, you should probably take it out of your rotation.

They were made for use in prisons and mental hospitals. Anyways, the 'psycho' name is just a nickname given on the internet, Gillette never actually used that term.

The reason I'm compelled to use it is because it is exactly like a fat handled Tech in dimensions, except it opens like a two piece (like a Merkur HD).
