What's new

Shave the new way!

A friend of mine was kind enough to give me this razor.
It is a British made Wardonia, plastic handle, metal cap

Patent 296597 was issued in 1929, but I'm guessing this one is from the 50's

It takes a special barrel-hole blade, here's a couple of old blades and the wrapper

It should be easy enough to mod a normal blade to work in the Wardonia.

Here is the head with an old blade installed

Has anyone modded a blade and tried one of these?
Interesting concept, I'm looking forward to giving it a try

I've got one of these, granted it's uncased and I never would have pictured it in a case that nice, but yeah, that blade gap looks extreme, and the fact that all that really holds the blade stable against the cap is that raised donut on the head looks iffy.

I've had a few Wardonia razors in my hands but always put them back as the blades are so hard to get hold of, except for the last all metal ones the did which looke like Gillette Ball end Techs and take standard blades. An average shave but not my thing so BST'd it early on. HEre's a link to some pics of the wardonia range.

I believe I have that same exact set. Let me know if you are successful in modding a blade and I will do the same.

If you did a search on UK bay, 'for vintage razor blades small shop display pack 'Kleen' 100 blades full', they appare to be barel hole blades brand new in the wrappers.
