Shave in the Morning, or at Night?

Shaving in the evening doesn't make any sense in my case. In the morning I will look like a bum even if it was a R41 shave. My black barbwire grows very quick. So I shave every morning. No days skipped, no excuses. At least for the last 15 years.

My USN time it was as morning. Switched to electric. Didn’t hurt to get clean shaven, still morning. But I didn’t have to wait for sink space. i.e. 5 sinks 25 men.
I’d normally shave in the berthing area instead. Got out after 6yrs 1 day. Kept morning shaving until I went back to sea, again as a Merchant Seaman with a DE razor.
I took any me time to shower then shave at nighttime. Rough when you stood 4 on 8 off watch rotation. But now as a day worker ”Boatswain Mate”. I kept the night shave going. Even at home. To me it’s easier, calmer and you get left alone. especially true if you have two kids and a wife. So 90.9% at night.

since I started shaving it’s been nighttime and occasionally mid afternoon, works great for me. Biggest advantage is no rush.

mornings is my preference after a hot shower. I do a night shave usually once a week after work and don’t take a shower first, never the greatest shave. Hot shower before hand really helps for me.

Was thinking of doing a poll but searched and found this one already so maybe we can keep it going!

I am almost always a night shaver. It gives me more time to enjoy the shave routine without rushing and any irritation I may have is gone in the morning and my face looks good to go.

Frankly, I shave whenever the mood strikes me. I probably shave as much late in the day as I do in the mornings.

Morning. Although I would love to shave in the evening when I (learning) use a shavette for my head, I like my pillows white. I also, for no good reason except that I do, want to go to work clean shaven with smooth scalp. Not that anyone there cares or notices, of course.
Even after a BBS smooth shave, 8-10 hours later there is some stubble. Not much, like I said, no one cares but me, but I seem to be a bit ocd about it.

Morning only. I might delay shaving for after breakfast but always in the morning. Shaving before bedtime is a big no-no for me.

I was mostly an after shower after work (early evening to night) shaver. With random shaves times thrown in once in awhile.

The past 6 months i started being able to shave "safely" again, i try to shave before the late afternoon.

Yea, I shave before I shower. I use the shower to wash soap off my face. Makes no difference I quality of shave

I shave roughly every 36 hours so I alternate mornings and evenings and I don't subscribe to the idea that a pre-shave shower improves the shave. In fact often I load the brush and start face lathering without washing or wetting my face first. I prefer very cold water though. Works for me

Usually at night. Unless I get something new in the mail then I have to use it right away.
