shave cream - after opening jar??

good evening gents,

how long will shaving cream last once the jar is opened? by this is mean, will it dry out or become unusable after a long period of time? i searched a bit on this site and couldn't find any info.

Most will last years if you keep them tightly sealed.

It will dry and become harder over time, even to the extent of becoming like a soft soap, but still be perfectly usable.

In that state, it may be easier to load by swirling the brush in the tub.

I've creams that are now pushing close to two years old that are still doing well as I reseal the containers after each use. A couple are a little denser but no effect on usability
