Shapleigh Hardware Lily White Washita

"Look what I found"
This is one I have never seen before. It was discovered by a picker friend of mine. He was hunting in the hills of New Mexico. This is a interesting piece of history, a double dip of two good names together. A labeled Shapleigh Hardware Lily White Washita. Shapleigh Hardware has its place in history. Among many other things, they were known for there branded razors, knives, axes, cutlery, and the Diamond King Razor Hone. This is the first natural oil stone using the Diamond Edge name that I ran across. "Diamond Edge is a Quality Pledge" was one of there slogans. A nice thick 6x2 inch stone that the seller stated belonged to there 69 year old grandfather who passed in 1971. Box, stone and label are in a great condition for its age. Nice addition to the Washita rock pile

Last picture with its cousin, a Diamond Edge Razor Hone in the groovy deco aluminum embossed case

That- is - awesome. I’ve never seen that label before either. Nice grab, Tim!

Very cool find. Must be nice having a friend that is a picker. Never seen a lily white or aluminum case like that before. Please post pics if you clean the lily up.
Thanks for posting.

Thanks David, something you have never seen before, WOW!! Love to find something unknown. It is a cool label. Stone is uncommonly smooth. Might be loaded or glazed.

Thank you. Just put into the dip. See what come out in a few days. Was not oily, just strained and oxidized

These show up, but not as often as Nortons. Usually, the label refers to 'Lily White quality' or like this one, 'Lily White Grit'.
