This intentional electronic community provides many benefits. One is the sharing of a tremendous breadth of knowledge and information. Today I had the opportunity to share in a more tangible, real-life situation.
For the past week I contemplated how to dispose of the third of my Gillette Slim Adjustable razors. Passing it forward to a newbie seemed like a good idea - giving someone an affordable chance to experience what I consider to be a great razor. But I was short of the 50 posts needed to use the BST forum.
On Friday I noticed a WTB Gillette Slim Adjustable posting from a new B&B member. And he lives in the same city as I do. We communicated and Saturday afternoon he stopped by the house to look at the razor. We chatted about shaving and he decided to buy my razor. And it turns out he is on the city council and represents the part of the city in which we both live. How about that? A new shaving acquaintance and a connection to city government.
