What's new

SEptember 2019

Last day of SEptember and I skipped the shave this morning. Here's the final tally:

  1. Gem Bullet Tip - 6 shaves
  2. Pal Injecto-matic - 5 shaves
  3. Gem 1912 - 3 shaves
  4. Gem G-Bar - 3 shaves
  5. Valet VC-3 - 3 shaves
  6. Schick Adjustable - 3 shaves
  7. Gem Clog-pruf - 2 shaves
  8. Gem Contour II - 1 shave
  9. Ever Ready 1924 Shovel Head - 1 shave
  10. Bump Fighter - 1 shave

Takeaways: I've gotten better shaves than I could had ever hoped for from the Gems this month. There was a time I couldn't get a passable, irritation-free shave. Not anymore.

Fewer shaves with injectors this year. Left out of the rotation were the Pal adjustable, the Personna, a Eversharp Schick Type G, and a Schick Type L.

I also didn't shave with the Gem MMOC. Saving that for OCtober.

Enjoyed it. See you all next SEptember!

SEptember Shave 27

Schick J1 Injector tazor
SChick blade (17)
Omega Bigger Bambino brush
Razorock Orange Sunrise soap
Dickinson's witch hazel for AS

I managed to mix it up a bit for SEptember adding in a couple of non-injector SE razors. It was nice to break out two of the shavettes, of which I much prefer the Feather over the Weck. Clearly the MicroMatic needs to get out more. Fortunately it will make an appearance in OCtober.

Ran out of month before my oldest Schick - but today's shave was last night, so still ..

Type A, 1926 or 1927, pictured with a blank because I'd policed it back up prior to returning to it's slumber at the head of the Schick section ..

Last shave of the month
ER 1914
GEM PTFE SS (3)
Haslinger Seaweed
2014 B&B LE Finest badger

Blade a bit tuggy, but overall a good shave. Micromatics are easier in the head, 1914 better for the face.
