I have a badger that I like, a Vulfix 2006 and now I would also like to get a boar to replace my VDH. At twice the price is the SOC worth it? Can anyone compare the two, pro and con?
I used the same two boars in tandem for a while. The SOC, for me, is a decidedly superior brush, all around. The 1305 is a great brush, mind you, and you won't be displeased with the purchase. But for dollar, the SOC is easily worth the extra money. With the 1305, I always caught myself thinking, "hmm, I wonder what that SOC is like ..." Since getting the SOC, I have never even pondered buying another boar.
You'll occasionally see an SOC come up on the B/S/T for $25 shipped. I picked up both of mine this way.
Well, you guys finally broke me. I love my 1305 and have been considering an SOC for a while now. Now it's on the way from VintageScent.
Get them both
I don't recall ever using my 1305 after getting the SOC.
unless you want to rotate boars, they have similar handle shapes/sizes and I see no point in having both of them in this case.
he'd be better off with a different Semogue or trying an Omega.
I have both SOC the cherry and the ash wood and the 1305. and they all in my rotation I don't Need different brushes as to perform differrently. just a rotation to dry them outI don't recall ever using my 1305 after getting the SOC.

Thanks for the heads-up. It would have been nice to know that before ordering, but I suppose I can be patient. The end of September will come soon.Just note that Vintagescent is out of stock of SOC's. I emailed a couple of days asking what the status was on my order and got a reply back that he is waiting for a new batch to come from the factory at the end of September.
