Semogue 1470

Thinking of getting this brush. 50mm loft, 22mm knot and a great price.

I face lather and use soap so I think I want to get a short loft. The longer lofts seem to be messier to face lather.
The only other boar brush I have is an Omega 10005 which has a 55mm loft and 24mm knot and is doing quite well. Although I still prefer my GN Finest and best badgers in 20mm with a short loft
If you have used the 1470 or have any input I would appreciate it.

I'm interested to hear about this, too. The shorter loft Semogue brushes have caught my eye. In particular, the #620.

Hi,

I have a 1470, and while it's similar to the 1520, I've heard that it's a slightly different grade of hair. It's supposed to be a bit softer than the latter.

However, I prefer my Omega 10005. It feels much nicer on the face and its tips are much softer, even before break-in. I find the Semogues too prickly in general, with the LE 2009 being an exception.

Regards,

John

John I like the 10005 also. Doesn't sound like the 1470 would be any better. I wonder how the Omega 10275 would be, it has a 48mm loft with a 21mm knot. Has anyone tried it?

The 1470 & 10005 a very similar brushes even though made by different companies. They have soft bristles and are floppy for there loft size. Both make great lather.
