What's new

Second SR shave.progress.then failure.

First was just cheeks, and far from BBS. So, today, for my second attempt, I got closer on the cheeks and through the neck with only 1 small nick on the left neck under the jawline. So, with that success, I went to the chin with no problems other than not getting as close as I'd like, then on to the upper lip. Was finishing up the first side and cut myself pretty good. Took a while to stop the blood letting! Will give it another try next weekend, not enough time during the week and can't show up to work with cuts all over my face. Normal?

Sure it does! My second SR shave left me with two small slices on my nose - not NEAR the nose, but ON the nose - and a good scraping under the chin. I'm still a new guy at this, but having great success after the initial bloodletting; I'd like to offer you some advice that really helped me. First, spend as much time as you need next weekend. Go very slow, and really focus on what you are doing. It took me a little over an hour when I did it last Saturday, but the time invested really paid off. Second, start each section with the razor nearly flat against your face, then slowly lift the angle while making strokes until it feels right. Once you have the angle dialed in, finish that section, then repeat on the next section starting with a flat angle again.

Hope this helps, and best of luck!

Sounds about right :). Chicks dig scars too so consider it a bonus.

Yes, keep at it. I just had my third straight shave today and it was so much better than my first two. Sooo much better. Today the angle thing sort of clicked. I just got a good swipe and a light bulb went off. So that's what they are talking about! Don't get me wrong, my shave was not very close, but some parts are and I am not embarrassed to be seen in public. All In all, a great feeling. I felt less like my hands were made up of all thumbs also. A lot more comfortable.

Angle is everything!
