SE shaving videos that made me go hmmmm...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuuuvuOzB7U

The first thing I wondered about is that he began shaving his mustache. I usually leave that to the end to let the lather soften it...Today I understood my error as the shaving of my face with SE dulls the blade and the mustache is my most sensitive area that needs the sharpest blade.

Otherwise, his speed and straight forward ATG under the jaw made me go
This is quite an inspiring video to me.

Definately not recommended for the faint of heart or inexperienced. Sheesh!

Notice the weepers over his face because he had to press so hard on the blade to get through....man hes got big ones.....

That's Willie.
His grandfathers straight too.
Only saw two spots he was leaking, and they probably happened from not shaving in a while(out of practice) or possibly, there was a pimple on his chin that he didn't see(I seem to remember this being the case.

But, honestly people that take 5X as long when first starting out bleed lots more, and probably have a worse shave.

What makes that video truly impressive is the length of his beard growth. If I really wanted to, I can shave ridiculously quick.

I'm pretty sure shaving the 'stache first is just a personal choice.

There was a lot of bad talk about this video at SRP. They were saying it was sped up, and he cut himself like 3 times (I only see one), he didn't prep, yada yada yada. I think it's a pretty cool vid myself. Willie seems to be a cool person.

LOL, could not have been sped up, or he would have sounded like a Chipmunk.
No prep? looks like he just got out of a shower to me, wet hair and all.
I saw 2 nicks, both small enough that they had stopped by the time he put on his aftershave.

He is a member here, nice guy.

Actually I believe he said there was a small blemish hiding under all those whiskers he didn't realize was there.

What a jaw dropping demo!!

Stunned amazement, with a sprinkling of queasiness and fear.

All he needs is a big S on his chest and a flowing red cape.

I bet he can walk on water, too.

Whew!!

:w00t::w00t::w00t:

He gets the triple w00t award.

I never really saw too big a deal with this video. He knows how to shave with a straight. I'm kinda curious why it was such a big deal. Its like "What did people think it should look like?"

I had some great success shaving 5 and 6 day old growth and when I add really hot water the way he does it sure helps!

I like his disciplined approach to shaving stroke direction. His shave is very efficient.

I usually apply water only after the first pass and dork around with the razor for like 5 minutes, just getting closer and closer.

The possible criticizism I could have is his body position when stropping. For other people, that might not help them succeed.

Say what you like about his technique but it obviously works for him. And at the end of the day that's all that matters.

How about the razor hold when he shaves the left hand side of his neck.

I think it's just the atmosphere/setting of the whole video that makes it fun watching. I think it also helps that it's under 4 minutes long, unlike other long, boring, eventless shave vids.

Only 4 minutes just think what he is missing!! At least another 20 mins....
