Hi All,
I was very fortunate enough to get a scuttle for my birthday back in June. As I am based in the UK, I decided to source my scuttle locally, and chose Steve Woodhead (http://stevewoodheadceramics.co.uk/...shaving-mug-shaving-bowl/shaving-scuttle.html). He made me a large shaving scuttle, in blue, with a dribble port. This was the first time he had made a scuttle with a dribble port, and we are both extremely grateful to bob.e for his advice on the size and positioning of the dribble port. It has taken me almost 3 months to write this review, so my apologies to Steve and bob.e for the delay. Here we go,
The scuttle was well packed and looks stunning. Steve was very good at keeping me informed of progress with the job.
Today, as a demonstration, I loaded a small amount of GFT Rose cream onto my pre-soaked Kent BLK4:
I filled the reservoir with hot tap water (I haven't measured the volume, but can say it's enough for me to keep lather warm for a Kyle's prep and 3 passes after that) After 1 minute, I had a nice lather, which was aided by the swirled pattern of ridges in the bowl part of the scuttle:
Although it wasn't necessary in this case, to show how it works, I added some water through the dribble port by tipping the bowl to the left:
Overall, I am very happy with the scuttle from Steve Woodhead, and would recommend him to anybody, especially if you are based in the UK and want to deal with someone locally.
I look forward to hearing your comments,
Best Wishes,
Chris
