Scuttle, is it a must once you tried it?

A 4oz stainless prep bowl is a good brush rest. Set it in a cup of hot water and you have a brush scuttle that also works as a small, easily held lather bowl. Nominal cost at a restaurant supply or kitchen specialty store.

We keep our tap water very hot. I reach for this set up 7 or 8 times out of 10, even in summer. Warm lather, warm bristles.

I tried a scuttle for a while but ultimately stuck with a lather bowl. I find the lather bowl more ergonomic in the hand. I will sometimes float the lather bowl in the sink for warm lather. Works for me.
