Scuttle Design Advice

Hey,

I'm comissioning a scuttle to be made by a friend's mother. She's really keen on the idea but really hasn't a clue what i'm talking about but that's okay, i'll be providing her with plenty of reference pictures.

What i'd like to know is, is there anything in particular you think i should specify? What i DO know so far is i want it big enough for making lather, not just holding the brush. I think i want it in 2 pieces, for ease of cleaning primarily.

What should i think about? any texturing inside the bowl? handle type? anything else?

Thanks in advance

Paul

Couple of things (but you vetoed one). One piece - don't understand why folks want to mess around with two things. I use two stacked bowls as a scuttle and they worked well but they are what led me to find a one piece. To each his own, though, and I wouldn't argue one way or the other - just what I like. A lip around the top of the bowl to help keep the lather in. I've read texturing helps with lather building but my old smooth-bottom cereal bowl did as well as my grooved bottom. Again, just my experience.
