I usually face leather was just wondering what are the benefits of using a scuttle ? I also have no idea how to use one Thinking of trying one out advice is welcomed.

If you face lather there are no benefits. However, if you bowl lather a scuttle will keep your lather nice and warm. However, if you face lather you could use a brush scuttle.
A scuttle allows you to create warm lather which adds a lot to a shave especially in cooler weather. They are an affordable luxury; not a necessity.
Just recently got a Robert Becker travel scuttle and use it for a brush scuttle, love that it keeps the lather in my brush warm for multiple passes, works great for that purpose. During warmer months it will be stored but during cooler months it will get used regularly.
