Scratchy blades/carts?

Is it always due to damage? I was using a mach 3 cart earlier and it scratched me so I switched to my xtreme 3 razor (I was shaving in the shower so a safety razor seems like a bad idea, lol).

I also threw away an extreme 3 cart recently too because it was scratching me.

Is it always damage to the blade(s) or is it sometimes debris?

The only cart I use is the Trac II, no scratchiness there.

I imagine you can have a dud cart blade just like a de blade can sometimes be a dud.

For sure yeah. I've had it with blades too.

I guess it can be in manufacturing or due to damage to the blade.

Often when it happens I find myself looking for debris on the blade like hairs and stuff but... I'm not sure if they can cause it at all. Probably not.

Probably as soon as I feel a blade/cart scratching me I should chuck it away.
