I was wondering if anyone has any reccomendations for a reference book. Currently Im just randomly sampling what the local ABC store has in the price range Im looking for. I go one bottle at a time and it usually lasts me about a month. I downloaded iWhiskey for my iPhone (actually worth the money), but would like a book where I can actually jot down notes. Thanks

Anything by Michael Jackson. I've never read any of his whisky books, but I've heard this one is nice, as well as this one

Malt Advocate also has a good database of reviews on their website too. Michael Jackson's books are great and so is Jim Murray's Whisky Bible. I don't always agree with them but they are informative and a great place to start.

This and Jim Murray's Whisky Bible are my references. I find I have more in common with MJ and his book is very nicely laid out with pictures. JM's Bible is "all business" and has a staggering number of reviews and also includes world whiskies byond Scotland.
I highly recommend the second linked reference.
