Short version - dinner and drinks at Barrio in downtown Minneapolis - food was great as it always is and decided to sample from their famous selection of Tequilas. Scorpion Silver Mezcal was on the list and it so happens we managed the last two shots from the bottle which included a little extra surprise via a small, shotglass size tequila pickled scorpion.
After a moment of deliberation my buddy passed and never one to miss a stupid challenge in the presence of the fairer sex I volunteered to provide the scorpion a long term burial at sea. The consistency was sort of like fingernail crossed with popcorn hull.. taste was pure tequila - guessing the venom sack was still intact as that whole side of my mouth went numby/tingly for about 10 minutes. The tequila wasn't half bad either... would probably skip the insect course next time though.
