I scored a beautiful NOS, red/cream handle Peerless boar brush off eBay. I was super excited to get it. It arrived and I immediately lathered up. Cleaned it up and set it out to dry. The next morning I noticed the handle was cracked. All I can imagine is that the knot expanded and cracked the handle. Now waiting for the knot to really dry out so I can close the crack and epoxy it.

No good. Any chance of a photo or two to show us the damage? Also any chance of a refund of the seller on the bay?

Here’s a photo. The crack has closed up now that the knot is good and dry but you can still see it. It runs right along the mold seam in the plastic.
I did not seek a refund from the seller as I don’t believe it’s their fault. I think it’s just the luck of the draw. I’ll force the crack open and use some epoxy to seal it. That should take care of it.

I've spent loads on beautiful vintage handles before only to have them crack when drilling out the knots to reknot. It's heartbreaking. My sympathies.
