Scored an odd Leresche razor

Never seen a Leresche - made in France - like this. It's not in the Wait's Safety Razor Compendium. But this is what I got for 14 Euros.

This thread on another forum shows much better pictures.

And this one image from Collector's Encyclopedia:

No info I've read gives a date or approximate dates as to when these were made. Anyone know?

And for reference, these are the only Leresche razors I've ever seen:

Leresche being a French razor come up on a semi regular basis on ebay France. I've got a couple of them and they are excellent shavers. They are usualy good value for money as well. They don't attract the high premiums of the Gillettes.

Yes, Ebay France is where I got this one. I read that thread on the other shaving forum and saw it got a good review. Looking forward to trying it. 14 Euros ($18.27 USD) seems like a good price to me and I didn't mind spending it to add a Leresche to my collection, especially one in the case that appears to be older than any Leresche I've seen.

I have the one in the second pic (in the bakelite/plastic) box.

It really is well made and a superb shaver. I like semi-aggressive opencomb razors, and this one is better than the Gillette Old and New style heads for me. It is a little less aggressive than the New Deluxe and just as smooth (in my hands).

From my experience with that one razor, I'd say that they're well worth trying out....especially as they're not expensive yet.
