Brought home a Travel Tech from an antique shop today. I spotted it about a week and a half ago, but took home a Slim and a Gold Fat Handle Tech instead, because I saw a post discouraging newbies from using the Travel model for a while. Are they that much harder to shave with?
The Travel Tech appears to be NOS, and has a date code of H4(1962). It came in a small zippered pouch with a loop for blades on the left hand side, and 2 loops on the right side, one for the handle, and the other for the shave head. I haven't checked at Mr Razor yet, but I don't think this is the original packaging, as the inside of the case reads "Genuine Leather Austria". Inside the case, there was also one Gillette Super Blue blade in the wrapper, but the seal on the wrapper was already broken. The shave head still has the paper blade in it. Just curious, did all of the 3 piece Gillette razors have the Gillette logo etched on the shave head, or just select models? I was wondering because this particular Tech has the logo, but my Gold Fat Handle Tech does not. Did the one on my Gold Tech rub off over time, or was it non-existent to begin with? Also, are these Gillette Blue blades all vintage, or are they still produced?
