Has anyone ever pulled a hair and actually measured it's thickness?

I've tweezed out a hair or two from curiosity and would honestly estimate my thickest chin hair is right around 24 ga. +/- 2.

This just seems incredible to me.

Anybody out there have some good calipers and a thick beard?

Never even crossed my mind. What's more amazing to me is that you have calipers that can measure the thickness of a human hair!!

Usually about 25-150 micrometers, if I remember correctly.

Varies from 50 to 120 microns.
On average a human hair is usually around 100 microns.

According to various internet sources, the average diameter of a human hair is 0.1mm. 24AWG is five times that: pretty thick hair indeed!
