So I was just looking at my A's -- Both have the T-Bar (and now I have the greatest confidence that both are 1927's), but one handle is smooth and one is "textured" (Style 2 and 3). I've got to say that I thought the textured was just the metal on the handle undergoing some kind of unfortunate age-based transformation. Now I know it's not an age related defect, it's a feature!!! Thanks again, @BBS-1!

Silver. All the magazine repeaters were either silver or gold plated.
