Schick injectors - A comprehensive guide

My G4 Schick 66 is in mint condition.
Unbelievable considering it's age...

This is the only vintage Schick prior to the L types that I genuinely like. I've seen a few rough ones come up but not a clean one. I also keep seeing smooth gold-headed ones with blue handles that people call a 66. I'm not sure if that is true and both of them are 66s or if it's just the textured chrome one.

Here's an interesting Type G I recently acquired....a metal flake case. Can't say I've ever seen one of these before. Anyone else?

No you aren't, I'd like to say I purposely put forth conflicting information here to see if anyone was paying attention but I skimmed through this half asleep and missed a few details. First off that 1941 set is wrong the instructions are for an E3 both i posted mentioned treads which is what they are referring to for parallel striations on the guard bar to stretch out the skin.

The actual introduction date for the E3 is 1941 and last year unless overlap is 1940 for the E2. Definitive proof to follow.

Just to add some more data to the thread.
I’m attaching pics of an E (I believe E3…spring is fixed and does not move) without parallel raised bars on the safety bar, just texturing.
It is dated at 1941 with the 20 year guarantee.
This razor “feels” aggressive, or should I say harsh. My G1 with raised bars is much smoother, less harsh, but more efficient and gives a better shave (my G1 is my favorite razor; would like to try a J1 to compare).
I will say the E feels more substantial and higher quality. The finish is deeper, and the Bakelite handle is definitely cooler than the G’s plastic handle. The G is the better shaver, however.

I've long thought and stated that my Schick open to clean razor is an E-2...

If I'm reading this right and properly understanding what it means my razor is an E-1.

Am I correct in thinking it an E-1?

Looks to me like the tabs point up, but which way is up?

Experts?

In any case it's a fabulous razor!

Thanks and happy shaves,

Jim

Canadian made maybe? Seems I've seen some chrome headed ones from Niagara Falls, but can't recall or find that exact shade of handle

That is not something I have seen before. I suppose another possibility would be that it has been re-plated. That is a very nice find. Congratulations!

@Chan Eil Whiskers your razor is an E2. This is an E1.

Thanks for the photo. It confirmed that my recently acquired Schick E was an E1. Mine arrived without a blade. When I tried to load a blade from my modern Schick injector, the blade wouldn't load. I finally opened the spring and the blade loaded fine. Used the E1 this morning. It's a great shaving razor. I'm guessing that now that the E1 is loaded, the next blade will load without opening the spring.

That thought crossed my mind but I highly doubt anyone would go through that trouble for a G injector.
