Schaeffer One Piece Razor Score

After my Haircut today I made a quick run over to my Antique mall and browsed around for a bit. I saw a nice shiny razor In a case and asked to check it out. What I found was a Schaeffer One Pice razor. It was pretty unique in how it opened up to accept blades and the blades look to be Proprietary. Regular DE blades will not slip over the head that swivels up and down. Included were 4 original Schaeffer Blades. Two still in package and what appears to be is two unused loose blades. For $15 I took a chance and scooped it up. There is no plate loss at all and it looks great. I couldn't find any info on the razor itself. Appears to be 1940's possibly? Does anybody know anything about these Razors? :001_unsur

The Schaeffer One Piece DE razor is a knock off or (more likely) a licensed copy of the Segal razor of the 1930s. I have a Segal. You can carfully cut a modern DE blade with scissors (wearing eye protection as the scrap can fly). Position the blade carefully on the razor so it is even and straight on both sides. The Segal is an outstanding shaver of medium aggression. It has a nice balance and a nice feel and gives a close shave. The Segal razors were ingenious in design and well built. They were produced by the same company that manufactures the Segal locks. $15 dollars was a good buy for you. I would have paid twice that amount if I were a buyer. Congratulations!

Awesome!! Thanks for the Info! :thumbup1: I have never heard of this Razor before today. So It was a blind purchase. I really thought the way the Head swivels was pretty unique and the Hefty weight, and the untarnished Plating, it didn't take me long to buy it. Lol
So Would this be a 1930's perhaps?

Ok I did a petent search of the numbers on bottom, And came up with these.. Answered my own question
