What's new

Scentless Saturday

Canada Shaving Soap. I don't mind that it is filled to the top. I stuck the whole tub into a Timeles lather bowl to catch any overflow. I also leave the top off so that it hardens again.

I bowl lather.. so I just scrape some off into that same shaving bowl.... add some hot water and take my shower... it's ready to go when I'm out of the shower. The flakes absorb the water and lather up quickly and completely. I do scrub the lather into my beard instead of painting it on my face. That's probably why I like a little backbone in the brushes I select.

I face lathered for 30+ years, then I joined B&B last October and tried bowl lathering for a while. Last night I decided to go back to face lathering because, surprise ...surprise, I prefer it. Now my Timeless bowl serves as a Canada Shaving Soap tub holder. 🙃

They reduced my arthritis meds last month due to my weight loss.. and the benefits ran out a week early. As a result, I'm having some difficulty using my right hand/arm. I hope to get a shave in today because I skipped yesterday for that reason. If I manage it, I'll be using Canada Shaving Soap... we'll see.

Should the meds be adjusted?

I have no idea exactly what you're talking about, and didn't even stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night, but it sounds like something could be "fixed" by adjusting the dose or something like that.

I was able to use Canada Shaving Soap. My new SV 11/28 worked a treat.

Happy shaves,

Jim

I see the arthritis doc on Wednesday. I'm sure she'll make an adjustment. I see the infusion nurse immediately after her... so everything should end up fine, though you have to throw Medicare into the mix so we'll see.

This week saw a new soap in use, and one that I can't find any reference to here. Denton Majik is a soapmaker out of Michigan. In another neighborhood I'd read about how wonderful the base is (I ignore references to scent) and went looking for a website. I found a couple of vendors carrying the line and there was an unscented version. Naturally, I bought it! I am extremely impressed with this soap! The lather reminds me of the CK-6 formula. And one day this week I got distracted and didn't get my normal post-shave moisturizer put on. But this soap's post-shave properties were fantastic and I only put on my balm because of habit!
