Scented Cream..Need some advice?

OK so I know I am opening up a can of worms here :a29:

Hopefully I can make this a easy as possible. Currently I have only used NON-Scent Art of Shaving Cream and also Momma Bears soap due to my sensitive skin. Well it was sensitive in the M3 world but not any more. No more razor burns, no more irritation and my skin feels very soft and and also moisturized from the AOS. Living in New Mexico it's DRY!!! I liked Momma Bears Soap as it lathers very lovely, but it doesn't leave my skin as moisturized as the AOS I am sure a difference from soap to cream? :001_huh:

Well moving on the Boss Man was gracious enough to give me $30.00 from Amazon.com for Christmas and I think I want to try a nice scented cream. Now living in New Mexico there is one shave shop I have found in Albuquerque however they are very limited on the inventory so I can not go out and smell my perfect scent. I am looking for something light and easy and nice. My wife likes the smell of lemons and I was thinking of a lemon lime scent, but curiosity has me wanting to try an avocado or sandal wood or Lavender or Almond or.....? Well you get my point. I am thinking of sticking with a Taylor of Old Bond as I should be able to try two different creams. Any advice would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Joey

If I were you I'd try both taylors avacado and also the lemon/lime in the tubes as both moisturise well and aren't really that expensive, The lemon/lime cream does have some woody notes in it. Its good enough to be sublime but different too.

Hope this helps

If you like the AoS cream, their Sandalwood has one of the best of the sandalwood scents. That might be something to try since you have their non-scented to compare it to. I like the ToBS Sandalwood, but it's more on the cologne side of sandalwood scent than the wood side. If you're going to go toward the cologne scent, ToBS Mr Taylors is the cream to try. ToBS Eton College is a good cream and has a very light (citrus, maybe) scent. I haven't tried ToBS Lavender because I already have the Harris Lavender. The reviews on the ToBS Lemon/Lime were mixed which is why I haven't tried it. Another good cream on amazon is Edwin Jagger. I have the Sea Buckthorn scent which is a light orange or citrus scent. I get very close shaves with it. EJ Sandalwood is also supposed to be a good sandalwood scent. Tubes of it are $15 on amazon.

Since you have used and liked the AoS unscented SC, you might try the AoS lemon SC. Very straight forward lemon scent (using lemon essential oil) and the same performance as the unscented.

Well I sprung for Lavender, Lemon-Lime, and Avocado from ToBS. Thanks Gentleman for your input.

If you haven't already, get yourself some Kiss My Face, it's cheap & pretty good stuff for how cheap it is. On a side note, I need to get down to Model Pharmacy again one of these days; shaving gear, milkshakes & drugs all in one place, what more could anyone ask for?

A decent selection of razor blades comes to mind  Last time I was there they only had one DE blade to offer. Such as NM though. Now if they made a green chile blade, mild, medium, or hot you could buy a DE blade at Blakes :thumbup1: it's nice to see another DE shaver in NM also using the likes of a FatBoy!

Have to agree with njpaddy above and say that AoS Sandalwood is a very nice clean and soft fragrance that I thoroughly enjoy. Proraso is my goto but might not be for you. If you're feeling adventurous, my favorite fragrance is T&H Trafalgar.

From their site:
"Spicy wood with top notes of Cedar, Sandalwood and subtle hints of Jasmine and Spice."

Best of luck!
