SC in a tube

How would you apply your SC from a tube on your brush for face lathering?

Take a bit of SC with your finger apply it on your face first and afterwards use the brush on top, or squeeze a small amount on the brush and then massage?

any other ideas?

i use the apply on the face method and then use the brush i've tried the other way as well both have worked well for me but others may beg to differ

I never thought too much about it, but if I recall correctly here's what I usually do. I pick up the tube in my right hand, put some cream in my left hand fingers, pick the brush with my right hand, quickly mix the cream into the brush with my fingers, wipe the rest of the cream from my left hand onto my face (might as well), wash my left hand, and then get to face lathering.

I usually build the lather in my palm but sometimes build it on my face. The way I do it at least, the two are pretty similar.

With creams, I find the step where I mix the cream into the brush useful--that way a big dollop won't fall on the floor. Also, with face lathering I find that if the cream or soap just gets on the tips, there sometimes isn't enough for three good passes. Mixing it into the hairs really loads it up.

I tried on the brush directly, using my fingers and on my face.

Out of the 3, I find that directly on my face works best. I do some lines on my cheeks (on each side) and I then build the lather.

The line must be thin, very thin, I keep the opening of the tube very very close to my face so I don't get big chunks of cream that can end up anywhere while I build the lather.

Yar puts the chili in thar bowl, yar puts thar spoon in thar chili, yar puts thar chili in yar mouth!

Sorry...been spending too much time over at the Mess Hall.

Generally I'll just apply the cream to my face with my fingers. While I prefer to limit the mess and not have to rinse my hand I tend to find the concentrated "snurdle" of cream placed on the brush harder to work with and have had a few occasions where the snurdle drops off the brush into the sink.

I find the latter more likely to happen when using Musgo Real, which is relatively stiff coming out of the tube (even if I let the tube sit in warm water prior to squeezing) than when using Proraso, which you can smear more readily on the brush and avoid the dread shave cream snurdle sink drop.

Personally, I put it on the brush.

I'm going to use the brush to build the lather; might as well get the cream there right away.

I put about the size of a quater or almond in the bowl. First I warm the bowl up with hot water and let the brush soak in the water too. I empty the bowl and whip the brush a few times and lather up in the bowl then to my face.

I use a ceramic bowl. I place hot water in the bowl and moments before use, I empty it. I then place a dab of SC in the middle of the bowl, then using my badger brush I whisk it to a consistency I like - and its warm and nice on your face. It also enhances the aroma.

Face lathering guys...face...not bowl:001_smile

I apply the cream to my brush tips then build the lather on my face.
