Saving the lather?

I am not being a cheapskate, but every time I wash off my brush and bowl that are still loaded with lather, I can't help but ask myself if there is a way to save that lather instead of it going down the drain.

Even the tiniest amount of product (cremes) produces a lot more leather than I need. So using less doesn't seem to be working out either.

So I was thinking maybe squeeze the lather out of the brush into the bowl and covering the bowl with plastic wrap?

What are your thoughts on this?

I squeeze mine back onto the soap and put the lid on it. It is soap after all. It may not make much of a difference but i do it anyway.

I would imagine that after awhile the lather would break down or destabilize, but I guess it's worth a shot to see what happens.

I asked something similar once in a humorous way and got some pretty funny answers.

I save my lather. It makes the lather easier to build and much creamier. I prefer soaps to creams. But I imagine that the preface is still the same.

with so many soaps and creams I haven't tried I want to go through the ones I have faster to make a good argument with the wife on why i need more so I really never have thought of saving lather. However, on the other hand I read a post last night about putting the unused lather back on a puck of williams to help it later better the next go around. That I might have to try, just can't bring myself to get rid of it!
