Savile Row or Shavemac pure?

Hey all, I was looking for reviews on Savile Row and Shavemac pure grade brushes and didn't find much. Anyone have these that would care to give them a little mini review?

For a Pure brush, I would go with Savile Row. They're cheaper, and shipping will cost less. Plus Savile Rows are very well made brushes.

...Although I might recommend that you look into Savile Row 'Best' or Shavemac 'Finest' - in my opinion the extra price is worth it.

I'd have to agree here. The difference in price is not all that great, and you're getting a better brush that will last a good many years. :001_tongu

And don't forget also the Saville Row Silvertip, sweet brushes, my favorite for creams. Also, it is said in a few post that the Saville Row brushes are made by Shavemac (fwiw, I read this on different shaving fora, so it might be true).

I've heard that too Rudy, but I don't think it's true. I've had a few different Savile Row/Shavemac Silvertips, and although they were similar, I could definitely tell the difference between the knots.

And what was that difference in your opinion?.....

Not too much difference, actually! I guess SR's are a bit more whitish, but both are very soft, and when paired with a shortened loft, can be very good brushes.

Maybe this will shed some light on the situation...
Between Savile Row's Best and Shavemac's Finest, I would recommend the Shavemac in Finest.
However, between Savile Row's Silvertip and Shavemac's Silvertip, I would recommend the Savile Row in Silvertip.
(and since that's as high as SR goes, I would recommend Shavemac's D01 the most of all!)
