Savile Row 2120 Best v.s. Vie-Long Two-Band

Got a Simpson Tulip 1 Two-Band Super with 48mm loft. It is breaking in nicely. Now decided to sell my barely used Vulfix Pure 54mm and put proceeds toward a nice 50 or so loft brush. Since I have a Simpson Two-Band should I not look at the Vie-Long or is it a different feeling Two-Band? I also like the S.R. 2120 Best Badger. I face lather soaps exclusively.

If you face lather soaps only, then you may want to get a brush with a loft shorter than 50 mm. I find that to be the point where you start to get too much flop (except with two band super). There are plenty of brushes with a shorter loft that might work well for you. I have never used a Vie Long, so I can't assess how well it might work for you.

Thought I'd try one with a little more loft. Like the 48mm T1 two-band but wanted to branch out.

I have not tried one, but I have read that Vie Long two bands tend to be too tall and soft for optimal face lathering. It was reported to be much different than the thick Simpson two band hair, but in what way I cant say for sure.
