Howdy,
Yesterday, I picked up four ounces of this for a buck at a discount grocery market (unique place that sells a dreadful amount of expired food). Looking around on the net, I found that it goes for about four dollars at the local Piggly Wiggly.
I have heard about folks using the bar form on their face. Sauer's is a local spice company. From what I can tell, its typically used with pickling cucumbers and the like.
Does it have any practical use with shaving? I could not help but add a pinch to my homemade balm (aloe gel, witch hazel, Vit E, cocoa butter lotion). The inexpensive concoction morphed into a liquid after I dropped in a bit of the alum. I was content with the balm the way it was and wonder if the alum is adding any benefit or used another way.
Thanks,
Scott
