What's new

Saturday Night Bach'ing - What Are You Eating For Supper?

So - SigFem is doing something tonight, so it's me and Max Cat

Rib-eye steak, done well (I ate raw beef once in Yemen and big honour or no, everything since is well done)

Topped with:

Heinz 57
Healthy glort of Frank's Lime Red Hot
Pickled egg, sliced thin
Spaghettini
Parmesan

Garlic toast on the side

Ephemere Apple Beer to wash it down

Max Cat only wanted the steak.

A la Salute!

Just finished the first grill session at my current residence.
The biggest T-Bone the store had (rare)
sliced, grilled yellow squash,
grilled new potatoes,
Pepsi Throwback (Sadly, also the first grill session after I quit drinking:frown: I sure could go for a nice cold IPA right about now)

Nice! :thumbup1:

I always ruin squash when I grill it :frown:

Throwback is made with cane sugar, if I recall. Haven't seen it up here, yet but it sounds good.

I prefer the Throwback to the regular stuff. The TB isn't nearly as sweet.
My secret to grilling squash, slice it, toss it in olive oil with seasonings, pop it on the hot part of the grill for maybe 1-2 minutes per side. As long as there is a decent amount of oil on the squash you won't see much sticking, but it sure can flare up a coal grill.

Noted.

Thanks !

It's a good night for grilling!

I made grilled cheddar bratwurst, and about a dozen chicken drumsticks. Half were drizzled with honey BBQ sauce, the other half with Red Hot.

For sides, baked beans, and a tomato/corn/avocado/cilantro mix salad the girlfriend made!

Cold beer on the side to seal the deal! Delicious.

I was in the mood for trying something different so I made myself a Hawaiian spam sandwich (as it's usually called). fried SPAM, pineapple, and cheese, all on a bun. It sounds kinda gross, but it was surprisingly tasty.

We had a "Magical Mystery Tour" from the local Mellow Mushroom pizza place......pesto sauce, button & portobello mushrooms, spinach, feta cheese, jalapenos, and sliced meatballs. Washed it down with a couple of Yuenglings.
