Saponificio Bignoli Solido (Hard Soap)

just ranting to myself...
as I read the ingredient list I was thinking, mmm, I'mgoingtotrythissoap, then "Tetrasodium Etidronate", bang, nope.
Why do they need to put Tetrasodium EDTA or similar chemicals into almost everything, even when the rest looks pretty decent?
It's mostly used in small concentration as a chelating agent and preservative.

As a chelating agent, it binds to mineral ions in hard water. This makes the soap lather better and reduces soap scum. As a preservative, it helps keep microorganisms from colonizing the soap. Most people would agree those are good things.

Both U.S. and EU regulators regard EDTA as safe in the concentrations used in cosmetic products. A very small percentage of people may get allergic reactions to it. Internet fear and hysteria about EDTA are mostly based on a small number of scientific studies of animals exposed to much higher concentrations than a person would get from using cosmetic products. On balance, the regulators believe that the good outweighs the bad.
